- Essential Oils
- Large Ziplock Bags
- Cupcake Pan
- Cupcake Liners
- Dish Soap
Start by gathering your pinecones. Don't worry about being too picky. There is a great tip later showing you how to get them to "open up" using your oven. Wash your pinecones thoroughly using simple dish soap and warm water. Lay them out to dry.
Tip - Baking your pinecones can help them "open up" and look beautiful. All you need is a cupcake pan, cupcakes liners, and a preheated oven.
- Line your cupcake pan with liners
- Place a pinecone rightside up in each cupcake holder
- Don't skip the liners or you might get sap on your cupcake pan
- Bake at 200 for about 45 minutes or until you see them start to open up
- Allow them to completely cool before starting the next step
Scenting your pinecones:
Choosing your essential oils can be fun when you mix and match. You can choose one scent or choose a few!
Holiday Scents Ideas...

- Nutmeg
Place your pinecones in a ziplock bag. Each essential oil will have its own bag of pinecones to scent. If you chose to scent with 3 essential oils, you will need 3 ziplock bags. Split your pinecones evenly between the ziplock bags and sprinkle with 15 drops of essential oils. Leave them in the sealed in the ziplock bags for at least 24 hours.
