Right in your own home you have the power to save money, while at the same time conserving energy...

By taking a few simple steps, you can help to reduce the nation's overall energy demand and put more money back in your pocket. • Change out air filters monthly.
  • Install a programmable thermostat to lower utility bills and manage your heating and cooling systems efficiently.
  • Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) or LEDs.
  • Turn off lights and other electronics when leaving the room.
  • Take short showers instead of baths and use low-flow showerheads for additional energy savings.
  • Wash only full loads of dishes and clothes.
  • Have dryer vents professionally cleaned.
  • Close blinds in the summer and open them in the winter.
